Aldi selling ‘incredible’ new cheese for $6

The German supermarket is selling a delicious new item that has shoppers raving – and some lamenting that they can’t get their hands on it.

Aldi: The best special buys of all time

Aldi has a well-established fan base for its Le Pave cheese – a creamy, soft French cheese that regularly sells out in stores.

But it looks like it’s now got some competition from another French fromage which customers have labelled the “most delicious cheese ever” and “the best $6 I have spent”.

Like Le Pave, Le Pico’s $5.99 goat’s cheese is also French and has attracted scores of fans since hitting Aldi shelves last month.

The limited edition product has been snapped up by customers and is now sold out at most stores.

Customers took to the Aldi Fans Australia Facebook group to rave about the “incredible” cheese for being “so smooth and creamy”.

“Take all my money Aldi! This cheese is the best $6 I have spent,” one person wrote.

“I’ve already bought it a few times and it’s amazing!” another said.

Others said it was a “smelly” cheese that you would probably only like if you were already a fan of goat’s cheese.

“I leave it out until it almost liquefies at room temperature then spread onto a crusty baguette with some quince paste,” one commenter said.

But some complained they had found the cheese hard to get as it was now out of stock at their Aldi – or it had been on the shelves but hadn’t scanned properly at the checkout.

“I only bought it once and now it’s no longer on the shelves,” one person lamented.
