One of the most anticipated events of the supermarket festive season is here — and the beloved item has stayed at the same price as 2023.

Aldi has announced the return of the two-pack of the Specially Selected Premium Lobster Tails with Garlic Butter Glaze, which retails from $34.99.

However, it won’t be the only lobster item landing in the German supermarket chain from October 23.

There are three new additions to the range, including the Specially Selected Lobster Thermidor Style Croquettes for $6.99 and the Specially Selected Split Rock Lobster in either a garlic and herb sauce or French style sauce for $29.99.

In total, there are 13 new products in the range, where the supermarket is hoping to allow shoppers to “go a little extra” this festive season without breaking the bank.

This includes Christmas Favourites Prawn Balls for $3.99, $6.99 Specially Selected Mature Cheese and Onion Croquettes 260g and a two-pack of Specially Selected Scallop & Champagne Gratin 300g for $9.99.

However, some returning favourites have also made the cut for the 2024 festive season.

The Specialty Selected Australian Tiger Prawns for $26.99 a kilo, the $15.99 Salmon Wellington with Cheese and Dill Sauce 700g and the Specially Selected Premium Extra-Large Scallops wrapped in Maple Flavoured Bacon for $14.99.

Kylie Warnke, Aldi Australia’s shopping expert, said the supermarket’s 2024 seafood selection was carefully curated to offer high quality at the lowest possible price.

“Christmas is all about cherishing moments with loved ones. That’s why our seafood options are crafted not only to be budget-friendly but also incredibly convenient. With our delicious selections ready in no time, Aussies can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying socialising with family and friends,” she said.

“We’ve added the brand-new Christmas Favourites range to the freezer aisle this year to offer even more affordable options for those looking to entertain on a budget. The Christmas Favourites Filo Prawn Rolls are perfect for party finger food or a light entree, while the Christmas Favourites Fish Wellington is a real crowd pleaser as a filling main course dish.

“Our returning Specially Selected range has welcomed some top tier items this year, and my personal favourites are the Specially Selected Split Rock Lobster and of course the Specially Selected Scallop and Champagne Bisque Gratin. These are super quick to prepare but look so impressive and taste amazing too.”
