ALDI recalls hot dog buns with metal shavings

AN urgent recall has been ordered after metal shavings were discovered in a popular food item.

The recalled buns are the Bakers Life Hot Dog Rolls (6 pack).

ALDI has issued an urgent recall of its Bakers Life Hot Dog Rolls (6 pack) from stores in NSW and ACT because of metal shavings in the buns.

A statement from NSW Food Authority said: “Consumers should not eat this product as metal shavings may cause injury if consumed.”

“Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the statement read.

The specific problematic product is the Bakers Life Hot Dog Rolls — 6 Pack sold at ALDI stores in NSW and ACT.

The product is 450g and packaged in a plastic bag with clip, and labelled best before July 14.

NSW Food Authority warned that “any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
