Aldi has discontinued a popular baby formula

A group of shoppers have taken to Facebook to share their frustration after the German retailer stripped a popular item from shelves.

A popular baby formula will no longer be sold at Aldi stores across Australia.

Shoppers have since taken to Facebook to reveal their frustration following news the German retailer has discontinued its range of Mamia Formula Step 1, 2 and 3.

News.com.au understands Aldi will be communicating this to customers via price cards in store.

“I’m afraid that the Mamia Baby Formula Step 1, 2 and 3 have been deleted from our ‘everyday range’,” an Aldi representative said in an email to a shopper, which was shared on Aldi Mums Facebook page.

“At Aldi, we are committed to producing products to the highest industry standards. Staying true to that commitment means that we periodically review our product range and make adjustments as necessary,” the email continued.

Fellow mums have shared their disappointment in the Aldi Mum’s Facebook page with one woman saying she has visited seven stores to try find the product.

“My daughter is just about to go up from 2 to 3. We can’t find any. I’m going to be devastated if they’ve discontinued it,” she wrote.

“My bub is on this formula and I will be devastated if they are discontinuing … I asked at my store and the worker said they were struggling to get stock,” said another, while a third added: “That’s really sad to read. It made formula feeding so much more affordable.”

Others described the formula as being “affordable” and said it was “disappointing to hear” it is no longer available.

Facebook users have reported the formula missing from shelves since June.
