Aldi has finally brought back a new and improved version of a fan favourite item — but it will only be on shelves for a limited time.

Aldi’s shelves have finally been restocked with a new and improved version of a fan favourite item – but only for a limited time.

The supermarket chain has brought back its Butter Chicken Naanwich, which was first released in 2019 as part of a 250 item drop of Limited Time Only products for Autumn.

The tasty treat is exactly what it sounds like – lashings of creamy, mildly spiced butter chicken, wrapped up in soft naan bread.

The naanwich, which was an instant hit among shoppers when it first launched, is available for $4.99 and comes in a two-pack serving.

Social media users have expressed their excitement at the product returning.

“Come across this when shopping yesterday, a naanwich – butter chicken wrapped in a nann bread, great for a lunch or dinner with a salad,” one said, posting a picture of the find.

Meanwhile, TikTok user @snackiegirl filmed herself rushing to the freezer section of her local Aldi store to get her hands on one.

After adding cheese and airfrying the naanwich, she declared the snack “slaps”.

Others social media users gave the product rave reviews.

“I tried one the other day and it is delicious, went back and got three more,” another added.

One said: “OMG eating this now with some tzatziki and it’s bloody delicious.”

“Sounds like an Aldi run on the way home to me,” one chimed in.

Another lamented: “Been trying to get some of these but its always an empty space, tried again today and they have now removed the shelf tag so I guess my store wont be getting any more in.”

An Aldi spokesperson told news.com.au that the new Limited Time Only range was all about treating yourself without breaking the budget.

In addition to the naanwich, the drop included Truffle Brie for $3.99 and Mac and Cheese Bites for $4.99, as well as a 1.1kg Chicken Chorizo Paella for $10.99.

“Just like with our Special Buys range, we always look to surprise and delight our customers when we add deliciousness to our Limited Time Only range,” Kylie Warnke, Aldi’s shopping expert said.

“This selection is all about treating your friends, family and yourself with quality meals, tasty treats and desserts without breaking the budget.”
