Aldi brings back popular beer and gin advent calendars
Grab your trolleys and get ready – Aldi is bringing back an adult-only product that sold out in record time last year, so you’ll need to be quick.
Boozy advent calendars are arguably the best thing about Christmas once you become an adult.
Sure, the magic of thinking Santa had actually snuck into your house to personally deliver you a bunch of pressies is great, but as an adult nothing really beats having an excuse to drink every day – especially in 2020.
With just seven weeks to go until Christmas, alcoholic advent calendars are beginning to hit shelves across the country – with Aldi recently revealing its popular adult-only selection recently.
As part of the German supermarket’s Christmas range which hits stores on November 11, there is a 24-pack beer advent calendar for $64.99 and a 12 days of ‘craftmas’ pack for $39.99.

There’s also a 12-pack gin collection for $59.99 and a 12-pack gin liqueur option for $49.99, both ideal for counting down those final few days before Chrissy begins.
“The countdown to Christmas is on and to help customers celebrate the festivities, ALDI is toasting the season with the return of our grown-up advent calendars, crackers and liquor gift packs – perfect as a gift for someone special, or as a gift for yourself,” Aldi Australia spokesperson, Nicole Higgins, said.
“This year, there is something for everyone, with returning cult favourites like our Hoppy Christmas Beer Advent Calendar and gin gift packs, as well as some new surprises for whisky fans.”
“ALDI’s liquor range is famed for offering exceptional quality products from premium beer, wine and spirits producers in both Australia and around the world,” she continued.
“We’re delighted to bring this same incredible value to customers in this year’s range of advent calendars, crackers and Christmas liquor gifts, certain to help spread a little extra ‘Christmas cheers’.”
News of the boozy advent calendars has been met with excitement online, with shoppers declaring they will be heading in store to “snag” one when they go on sale next week.
“This would be worth lining up for,” one wrote.
“I have to get one,” another said.
In previous years, the adult advent calendars have proved extremely popular – including a wine variety that had 24 mini bottles of plonk for $79.99.
The clever countdown caused a frenzy when it went on sale last year after making its debut in Australia in 2018.
On social media one person branded it the “best advent calendar invented”.
