‘No one ever believes me’: Shocking find in Great Northern beer logo amazes internet
An Aussie mum has sent the internet into a tailspin over this “crazy” find on a Great Northern beer bottle.
It’s as Australian as an optical illusion can get – a sharp-eyed mum has gone viral after revealing a hidden image in the logo of an iconic Queensland beer brand.
Paige Bush took to video sharing platform TikTok to prove a point to her family after they called her “crazy” for thinking there was another picture in the Great Northern beer logo.
To the naked eye, many would say the lager brand established in Cairns in 1927 featured a picture of a marlin in its emblem.
However, Ms Bush pointed out to her family members while having a barbecue, another creature was tucked away in the fish’s outline.
When they failed to believe her, the tech-savvy mum shared her thoughts online in a video that’s since received over 462 thousand views.
“No one ever believes me,” the caption to the post reads.
“I swear once you see it you can’t unsee (sic) it! I just need one person to back me up here!!”
Ms Bush goes on to acknowledge the Marlin before asking “do you know there’s a bird head as well?”.
“I swear to God everyone thinks I’m making it up, or I’m drunk, or I’m going f*****g crazy when I try and tell them there’s a bird as well … it stresses me out because literally no one ever f*****g believes me,” she said.
Ms Bush then goes on to show her viewers while holding a beer bottle, how they can see the bird, by covering the marlin’s top fin and first third of its body and a tiny fin on the bottom.
She then demonstrated how to find the bird a second time with the help of green screen, however some of TikTok’s features covered the logo making it difficult to see.
In both demonstrations, the mum came to the conclusion the fish’s tail could be a bird’s beak and another one of its fins was a feather pointing out of its head.
Despite her mishap, Ms Bush was able to successfully convince dozens of viewers a bird was there and sent the internet into a tailspin.
Among several excited “I see it” comments, others provided their techniques on how they identified the bird.
“I had to draw over the areas to see the bird head to show my friends. Took ages to prove it but yes 100 per cent there’s a bird,” one woman said.
“You can see it easier when it’s flipped the other way! It’s really hard to see,” a second comment said.
Meanwhile another follower verified the woman’s claim, with others commenting they’ve known about the hidden animal for some time.
“YES! I had a mad fisho show me this years ago when I was working in a ‘barramundi bar’ in the NT,” they said.
The Great Northern Brewing Co also shared the finding on their Facebook page and agreed with Ms Bush.
“We see it … having a word to our intern graphic designer. And then a beer,” the company joked, before posting a photo explaining how they see the bird.
Ms Bush later revealed the brewing company were going to send her some of their products for her efforts.
While the mum did receive some backlash for her observations, she had no issues handling that in a second video she posted as a follow up to her viral post.
“I just want to clear something up … no I do not think I am the first person that discovered this, I simply point it out to someone every time I see someone drinking it,” she said.
Ms Bush went on to explain she posted the video to prove she wasn’t “crazy” and just wanted to prove a point.
“I can’t understand how serious some people are taking it … you seem like you need to have a few Great Northerns,” she said.
