Coca-Cola launches new recipe No Sugar drink, new-look packaging
Coca-Cola Australia has unveiled a new recipe for one of its most popular drinks and an entire new look across the iconic cans and bottles.
Coca-Cola has changed the recipe for its no sugar drink in a bid to sway loyal fans of the classic beverage to switch to the healthier alternative.
The iconic drink company has spent five years working on the new recipe as part of its dedication to create a zero-sugar drink that comes as close as possible to the taste of the original Coca-Cola Classic, which contains 140 calories.
“We are serious about supporting the wellbeing of Australians, and by offering more lower and no sugar options, our customers will be empowered to make the right decision for themselves,” Vamsi Mohan Thati, president of Coca-Cola in Australia, said.
“But no matter what they choose, they can still enjoy a great tasting Coke.”
The new beverage has already begun hitting Australian shelves and features a new packaging design, the first change to the famous bottles and cans since 2016.
Kate Miller, marketing director at Coca-Cola Australia, said taste tests showed Australians were “positive” to the zero calorie drink’s new formula which has already been rolled out in Europe, Latin America, Asia and North America.
“Since Coca-Cola No Sugar was launched in Australia in 2017, the product has seen significant growth and we continue to innovate to keep driving this growth,” she said.
“We believe this is the best Coke ever and we’re excited to hear whether Australians think the same.”
The fresh new look also runs across the brand’s Classic and Diet drinks with Coca-Cola stating it had used the famous “Spencerian script” font in different colours to make the products easily distinguishable to consumers.
There will also be an integrated marketing campaign to support the reformulation launch, asking Australians whether “this is the best Coke ever?”.
