Aldi’s $7 wine has just been named wine of the year
A RED wine from discount supermarket Aldi has grabbed a top award at the Melbourne International Wine Competition.
A COUPLE of months ago we found out than an $8 Aldi rose was named one of the best in the world — catch was you couldn’t get it here in Australia.
Well, wine lovers it’s time to rejoice because another Aldi wine has won big at the Melbourne International Wine competition.
The best part is a bottle is going to set you back only $6.99!
Award-winning wine for under $10 — we’re in
The One Road South Australian Heathcote Shiraz 2015 won Wine Of The Year in the Best Value Shiraz category and we are cheering.
Another Aldi wine, the One Road Coonawarra cabernet Merlot 2015, $6.99, also took out a bunch of awards at the competition.
The Kaiora Bay Marlborough sauvignon blanc 2016 also nabbed a couple of awards but it’s a teeny but more pricey and a bottle will set you back $9.99.
This is brilliant news for wine lovers across the country and we’re very impressed with the selection Aldi has on offer.
Earlier this year a $6 Coles wine won a Double Gold medal at the same awards meaning that we have a lot of really good choice in the affordable category.
