Coles and Woolworths announce Black Friday deals
The supermarket giant shared a Black Friday “hack” that will save shoppers an extra 15 per cent discount off over 90 brands. Here’s how.
We’ve never loved a bargain more than we do right now.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, money is a little tight for many Australians – but Coles have just stepped in to offer shoppers a “game-changing” deal.
The retailer has just announced its Black Friday sale which clever shoppers will be able to “hack” and use it to snag an extra 15 per cent discount off other brand deals.
With some brand’s offering as much as 50 per cent off – that's quite a saving.
Here’s how it works.
From today until Tuesday, December 1, shoppers will be able to get 15 per cent off gift cards bought at Coles.
While that doesn’t sound super exciting, it’s the fact that you can use these gift cards at over 90 retailers in conjunction with the brand’s own Black Friday sale – which gives shoppers a double discount.

“Before shoppers hit the sales this Friday, they can stop into Coles for an extra 15 per cent off their bargains from tomorrow until next Tuesday,” Jonathan Torr, Coles general manager for health and home told news.com.au.
“This is a game changer because it means if you’re already saving 50 per cent at one retailer, you can save an extra 15 per cent by using the gift card.
“This is our biggest gift card offer yet and a true hack for shoppers who want to save.”
Participating retailers where you can spend the gift cards include Adairs, Nike, Foot Locker, Platypus, Hype and Sportsgirl.
However you can’t score a 15 per cent discount on gift cards to use in Coles stores.
Woolworths has also announced its Black Friday offers, hosting an online “Super Sale” event with discounts of up to 50 per cent off more than 2000 household and grocery products.
The online sale includes a range of cleaning, laundry, pantry and freezer favourites, as well as cookware, cosmetics, baby and pet products.
