IF you've ever wanted to start a little garden of your own, then this might just be the jewellery collection for you.

Created as "an experiment in drawing nature toward man", the range is designed specifically "for people in metropolitan cities" by Icelandic designer Hafsteinn Juliusson. The rings, necklaces and knuckle-dusters are made out of silver and filled with moss from Iceland, but they don't come cheap.

The range starts at approximately $190, and once you're a proud owner you are responsible for watering and general upkeep - and word on the street is that the plants are made of hearty stuff and are difficult to destroy.

The moss will stay green for 8 - 12 months, but it is a low maintenance commitment. The website reads: "For best results, water it only once every 5 weeks and be careful not to water too much. It’s also good to store the ring in deep freeze to preserve it."

You can also re-stock your moss when it eventually dies out.

And the best news? They ship to Australia in a little wooden box.
