Wallabies turn to style, social media and Sportscraft to spread their message
THEY MIGHT have a big match looming, but four Wallabies players have found the time to take over Sportscraft HQ - and we've got the pics to prove it.
IF YOU live in a sports-mad house, wrestling the remote is possibly your latest past time.
All the major ball sports codes are quite simply going off the must-watch Richter scale, reiterated by the mega TV ratings SBS recieved thanks to its coverage of the thrashing the Socceroos gave Jordan in Melbourne last night.
So you'd better be prepared to settle in over the next few weeks as our rugby playing finest, the Wallabies, go head-to-head with the British Lions in a best-of-three Test Series.
Hoping sartorial style may assist them in grabbing fashion headlines, our Wallabies have taken time off the field to make like models and crew on a quirky take on a fashion shoot, with Aussie fashion house Sportscraft taking care of their formal and travel fashion situation.
Getting right into the swing that is social media, the hashtag #wallabiestakeover is a cute campaign that stars outside-centre glamour boy Adam Ashley-Cooper, back rower Dave Dennis, flanker Liam Gill and incredibly handsome (and incredibly injured) back rower Scott Higgenbotham.
The campaign reveals what happens when the four players 'take over' the Sportscraft photo studio shoot, with the boys uncovering off-field personalities that rugby fans may not have previously seen. Yep, and they do have big personalities.
The last Lions tour, back in 2001, injected around AUS $100 million into the economy with the Wallabies taking the maiden series victory 2-1 over the Lions.
And while this test series has been 12 years in the making, chances are - and I will direct this to the non-sporting types in the house - that your TV remote will be but a distant memory come game days. The first test kicks off in Brisbane on June 22 followed by Melbourne June 29 and Sydney on July 6.
