The search for Australia’s most ordinary rig has begun

THE nationwide search is on for what could be described as Australia’s best “dad bod”. The competition’s criteria for entry are strict.

BUDGY Smuggler, the beloved Aussie cossie label, has announced this year’s annual search for the country’s most ordinary rig.

The top ten contestants will be flown to Sydney for the company’s gala event next year in January, with the winner claiming a prize of customised swimwear adorned with photos of themselves.

To be in the running you must meet the strict list of criteria from the label.

This rules include that you should look like you could have possibly been good at sport at some point in your life time, “although were most likely prevented via injury or robbed by selectors,” in your early career.

You must be able to launch a child a significant distance off your shoulders whilst in a swimming pool. Repeat, must.

It should also go without saying that, “a six pack is an automatic disqualification”.

Now a representative of the average Aussie bloke, last year’s winner, Dan Leyden was bestowed with the title of 2016’s most ordinary dad-bod.

As his ascent to glory goes, it was a Saturday night on the tins. Leyden’s missus was out of town and he was feeling the vibes of the Mount Isa Rodeo.

In front of thousands of spectators and after more than a little bit to drink, “Dan the Man” could no longer resist the calls of LMFAO’s, “Sexy and I know It”. He stripped off his clothes and wearing only his beloved Budgy Smugglers, he stepped into the spotlight.

Leydon was knighted the “Budgy Smuggler Cowboy” and allegedly managed to leave the event with no public nuisance charges as the audience genuinely believed he was a part of the show.

After he attracted local media attention for his performance, Budgy Smuggler embraced the opportunity and began the ordinary rig competition.

The footy boy and father of one was flown to Sydney as one of the top 10 entrants where he competed and won in the final gala dinner.

And so, the nationwide search begins for 2017’s champion. Are you the next Dan Leydon? Budgy Smuggler has announced it is time to start snapping some ripper pics of those average bods.
