Surprising cost of MAFS star’s wedding gown revealed
The average cost of an Australian wedding dress is $2475 — but this MAFS bride chose a stunning budget gown you’d never know was cheap.
It’s the show Australia can’t get enough of – so you’d expect there to be some serious money spent behind the scenes.
But while the MAFS brides walk down the aisle in stunning, flowing gowns that undoubtedly come with huge price tags, it has been revealed one dress cost far less than it looked.
Tash Herz, who made history tying the knot in the Channel 9 show’s first ever same-sex marriage, shunned an elaborate dress on her big day to wife Amanda Micallef.

Instead the 31-year-old chose a sophisticated long-sleeved dress with ruched detailing and V-cut neckline.
While the gown, which flashes a cheeky amount of leg, oozes glamour, it will only set you back $300.
The Pleated Plunge Wrap Wedding Dress is from fashion e-tailer ASOS as part of the brand’s affordable bridal range.
It’s made from a “luxe” satin that will ensure you’ll remember your “most memorable moment” in style – without breaking the bank.
While $300 is a lot of money, it’s a steal when you compare it with the national average cost of a wedding dress which, according to Easy Weddings 2016 Annual Australian Wedding Survey, is $2475.
Prices of the other wedding dresses featured haven’t been revealed, but there’s been an array of styles from statement tulle to the classic sweetheart neckline.
Tash’s bride, Amanda, 34, also went for something a bit different, opting for a white suit with a lace shirt.
