A Sports Illustrated model has caused a stir after posing on the sand wearing a two-piece swimsuit made of nothing but string.

A Sports Illustrated model has stunned fans with a skimpy bikini made entirely of string.

Olivia Culpo, 26-year-old posted a snap of herself sprawled on the sand wearing a beige two-piece swimsuit composed almost entirely of knotted and woven fringe.

She shared two images in the $400 bikini with the caption “Life’s a beach” as she smiled into the camera, skilfully balancing a glass of wine on her hip.

The I Feel Pretty actress has been in Mexico for the past few days with her friend Devon Windsor who works with her on the show Model Squad.

Her bikini — by brand Indah — showed off her toned figure, capturing the attention of her nearly four million followers who began tagging their mates with the hashtag “body goals”.

“I love this bikini,” one woman posted.

“I need that bathing suit though,” another said.

“It’s entirely string but I love it,” someone else wrote.

While others flooded her with praise over her “beautiful” and “enviable” figure.

The string bikini is currently sold out, but there are a number of equally stringy styles ffrom the same brand available online at Revolve.

Olivia enjoyed the day at the beach without her on-again-off-again beau, NFL player Danny Amendola.

Last week the former Miss Universe was in New York City for her new show Model Squad — a doco that follows elite supermodels in the fashion industry. While in New York, she posted a photo of herself wrapped (naked) in a fur blanket, holding nothing but a cup of coffee.

The 195cm model has also just announced a collaboration with popular cosmetics line Huda Beauty and launched the first Amazon skincare brand Belei with her sister Sophia Culpo.
