Brownlow Medal 2019: Best of the red carpet
The red carpet has well and truly delivered at AFL’s night of nights, with one WAG’s revealing outfit stealing the show entirely.
The Brownlow Medal’s red carpet has well and truly delivered this year, with plenty of thigh splits, plunging necklines and of course sparkles.
Sporting one of the more daring looks of the night was Hawthorn star Ben Stratton’s partner Laura Griffin.
The brunette showed off her amazing figure in a Grecian-inspired pink gown, wearing her hair up in a dramatic high bun.
The dress, designed by Elly Sofocli, featured the most daring thigh split of the night as well as showing off Griffin’s toned abs.
She paired the pink dress with statement green earrings which complimented her outfit perfectly.
Earlier Nadia Bartel had lead the glamour stakes in a vintage blue J’Aton Couture gown.
Bartel, who is hosting Channel 7’s red carpet coverage, was one of the first to arrive to the AFL event.
Sporting a natural makeup look with a hint of a smoky eye, Bartel wore her golden-toned hair out in relaxed waves.

Her vintage gown included a daring thigh split that showed off Bartel’s legs, with the TV presenter seen taking some careful steps on the red carpet as a result.
Bartel paired her J’Aton gown with nude Christian Louboutin pointed pumps and added some extra bling to her already breathtaking look with jewellery from Cerrone.
It’s the first solo appearance for Bartel, who has been a regular attendee of the Brownlows for almost a decade.
Bartel walked the red carpet without former husband, Geelong player Jimmy Bartel, after the couple announced their shock split in August.
The couple had been prominent on the Melbourne social scene and have two sons together, Aston and Henley.
Bartel will be hosting Channel 7’s coverage of the event alongside Campbell Brown, Abbey Gelmi and Josh Gibson.
Bartel’s co-host Gelmi also went for understated glamour in her Brownlows look, wearing a structured gown in tan by Cappellazzo Couture.
Jessie Murphy likes to made a statement on the Brownlow red carpet and tonight was no exception.
The blogger wife of Carlton star Marc Murphy wore a white corsetted gown by Oglialoro Couture.
Also pushing the envelope in a figure-revealing dress was Fremantle Dockers star Bradley Hill’s partner Samantha Dobbs, who wore a white lace gown that was mostly see-through:
Emma Hawkins, wife of Geelong star Tom Hawkins, turned heads in a navy tuxedo-style dress that featured a seriously plunging neckline.
Also rocking an avant-garde look was Kate Turner, the partner of Essendon player Dyson Heppell.
Ms Turner looked goth chic in a latex black dress that featured a thigh split, pairing it with strappy heels which sported a feather embellishment around the ankle strap.
AFL player Tayla Harris wore a silver dress by Zenophen.
While metallics and neutral colours seemed to be the order of the day Jess Tarrant, wife of AFL star Robbie Tarrant, provided a much-needed pop of colour in a fantastic gown that featured an array of purple tulle.
Channel 7 Melbourne weather presenter Jane Bunn also brought the glamour in a white and silver dress with ruffled detailing.
This year’s Brownlow was that little bit more special for GWS’ Callan Ward and wife Ruby who announced they were expecting their first child together.
The Wards made the announcement from Sydney where the Giants are having a special club dinner. The team opted not to travel to Melbourne for the Brownlow Medal so they wouldn’t disrupt their grand final training.
Despite GWS not making it to Melbourne there was still plenty of glamour couples on the Brownlow red carpet.
Besides neutral tones and sparkle, these attendees embraced one of the other big trends of the night — rocking a seriously good train:
It also wouldn’t be the Brownlow Medal red carpet without lots of flesh-flashing, with attendees giving their best Angelina Jolie leg impressions with these thigh split gowns:
Channel 9 weather presenter Scherri-Lee Biggs also embraced neutral tones in a white and glitter dress by Eliya.
Brit Davis, who is engaged to Geelong star Joel Selwood, also went for neutral in a light blue gown by Paolo Sebastian.
Adding some colour to the Brownlow line-up was Julie Neale, wife of Brisbane Lions player Lachie Neale.
The blonde channelled old Hollywood glamour in a pastel purple gown, styling her hair into elegant waves.
Earlier on the day celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson shared updates of Jessie Murphy, the wife of Carlton FC star Marc Murphy and Gelmi getting their hair done.
