Brownlow red carpet 2016

IT WAS a matter of ‘how low can you go’ on the Brownlow red carpet, with Jesinta Campbell and Nadia Bartel facing off interstate in plunging onesies.

Bartell, wife off the very-bearded Jimmy went first, sneaking a snap of her J’Aton Couture number onto social media. This was met with a cry of “Elvis has left the building” from some quick-witted commentators.

Nadia Bartel ... let’s hope she doesn’t have to go to the bathroom in a hurry.

Cementing the rumour that plunging onesies are on so trend this year, Jesinta Campbell trotted out her version at the SCG for the Sydney Swans Brownlow event.

But the prize for most out-there outfit of the evening goes to Gary Ablett Jr’s wife Jordan. She went for BOOTS and PLUNGING and NO PANTS and JACKET and BIG RINGS and CHOKER and ALL OF THE THINGS ALL AT ONCE.

Another lass who had many of the gents struggling to maintain eye contact was Jessie Habermann, partner of Carlton captain Marc Murphy.

The neckline-round-your-belly-button look was also favoured by Courtney Boyd, partner of Tom Lynch of the Adelaide Crows.

Every year there are a handful of dames who fly in the face of the low-cut frock. They feel they missed out on the opportunity to wear tuille and for once in their goddamn lives they’re going to do it. Some of them look like a dream (Jessie Hultgren, take a bow) while others just look a bit tangled up.

Behold, the Princess Parade.

But enough messing around. Let’s look at who got best on ground.

Susan Alberti and womens player Moana Hope. You would do everything you could to be put on their table. They look like they know how to have a good time.

Annie Nolan (who attended with Liam Picken of the Western Bulldogs) is a dead set legend for wearing pants. She is warm. She can drop food on herself and nobody will know. And if she plays her cards right she can nip into the gents. Annie, we salute you.

Nikki Homann (partner of Taylor Hunt of Richmond) managed to look classic without looking boring. It’s easier said than done. <br/>

It wasn’t all about the ladies though — fans were dazzled by an incredibly buff security guard tasked with delivering the votes to the hosts.

Kelsey Tomkins (the partner of Collingwood player Adam Treloar) brought a bit of Spanish flair to proceedings. It made a statement without being utterly ridiculous.
