MODEL Megan Blake Irwin will be among the 12,000 punters at Royal Randwick today for the time-honoured George Main Stakes.
The blonde, who is now based in New York, flew into Sydney this week to attend the race day, which is part of the Australian Turf Club’s spring carnival.
“I used to go with my friends because I’m not from here originally, but it was always a good excuse to get dressed up,” the ATC spring racing ambassador said.
Irwin will join Miss Chinese International pageant star Jessica Song, Sam and Phoebe Burgess and Myer face Jennifer Hawkins at the race day, which is sponsored by Colgate Optic White.
The dress code for the day is ‘‘a touch of red’’.
“This year I’ll have a pop of red on my lips and be minimal with everything else,” Irwin said.
“I might even have a red shoe or clutch; we’ll see.”
Irwin was also looking forward to cheering on the day’s equine star Winx, who will be competing in the Colgate Optic White Stakes for her 11th straight win.
“I believe Winx is the favourite so I’m going to have my money on Winx,” she said.
