‘Ugliest thing I have ever seen’: A Paris fashion brand is selling a pair of $470 denim undies
In possibly one of the most bizarre clothing designs ever made, a Paris fashion brand is selling a pair of jeans knickers. And they need to be seen to be believed.
This is taking hotpants to a new level.
Fashion brand Y/Project is flogging a pair of $470 jeans knickers — they’re high-waisted, with a zip front and button at the waistband, they’re basically a pair of undies … but made of denim.
And they’ve raised eyebrows online, where they were described as “ugly” and “horrible”, The Sun reports.
Described as a pair of “cotton denim hi-cut shorts” on the Parisian designer’s website, the denim panties are marketed as having “five pockets” and “belt-loops at the waistband”.
In a design seemingly plucked straight from Nicki Minaj or Madonna’s wardrobes, the denim panties also feature “copper-tone hardware” and “tonal stitching”, according to a description on luxury shopping site, Ssense.
In an Instagram post, the Canadian e-store said: “Two words: Denim panties. The SSENSE editors show you five ways to take your Canadian tuxedo to the next level”.
“These ‘brief-style shorts’ can be worn under or over pants, meaning they’re far more versatile than what you’d traditionally expect from a pair of briefs.
“Underwear that doesn’t need to stay ‘under there.’”
The post gained nearly 9000 likes in 48 hours but shoppers were less than impressed by the riduculously expensive garment.
“This is the ugliest thing I have ever seen in my life”, “Wow these are just horrible” and labelled them “terrifying”, The Sun reports.
Others joked: “Chafing is great” and warned: “Two words … yeast infection”.
One Instagram followers described them as “janties”.
The bizarre shorts appeared on the runway at Paris fashion week last September, during Y/Project’s spring/summer ’19 show. Sizes M to XL are already sold-out on ssense.com, while there are still pairs left in XS and S.
