These flattering $22 Kmart jeans are your new perfect pair

Women are raving about a budget pair of jeans from Kmart that are super comfortable, flattering and cost way less than designer brands.

Finding a good pair of jeans is one of life’s hardest tasks.

While that might sound like a major over-exaggeration, anyone who has ever tried to find their “perfect” pair will understand the statement.

Too often you find the pants are too baggy around the waist, or too tight on your thighs – and that’s before you’ve even tackled leg length which is problematic for the taller and shorter among us.

However, I recently found a pair of jeans that are so good, it would honestly be a crime to keep them to myself.

And the best part is – they cost just $22.

The reason for the low price is because the jeans are from one of the unlikeliest of places – Kmart.

But for those of you who don’t know, the discount superstore is actually a secret hotspot for affordable denim.

I first discovered budget retailer made great jeans a few years back when I became obsessed with a pair of skinny jeans I’d seen being raved about on social media.

After buying a pair, I quickly fell in love, and snapped them up in black and white too.

However, skinny jeans have fallen out of fashion, and after two-years spent mostly indoors I’m not mad about kissing goodbye to skin-tight pants.

But I didn’t want to fork out the $300+ price tag most designer jeans came, so I went back to trusty Kmart.

That’s when I discovered the “Extra High Rise Straight Jeans” for $22 and immediately knew they were my new faves.

The jeans fit like a glove without digging in anywhere as the fabric has a soft stretch to it and the extra high waist sucks my tummy in, giving me confidence to rock the jeans with tops and shirts tucked in.

As a shorter gal, the “ankle” cut fits me perfectly as a full-length pair of jeans, while still also looking great on taller people.

A spokesperson for Kmart told me the jeans aren’t new, stating the style has been in stores for the last two years – however the light acid wash I bought at lightning speed is a new colourway that was introduced in January.

“These jeans have been a customer favourite,” the spokesperson said.

“They also come in black for a smarter look but equally versatile to dress up or down. The fabric is a cotton elastane, authentic denim fabric which has stretch for comfort and an extra high rise for added comfort.”

When I got home, I filmed a quick video for my social channels wearing the jeans, and was blown away by how many people also said they loved them.

“Yes! I love my Kmart high rise straight jeans. Honestly way more comfy than some of more exxy brands I own,” one woman wrote on Instagram.

“Super high waist is the best!” another added.

And my TikTok video had over 12,000 views, with commenters writing: “Need to buy.”

When I wore them out, reaction among my friends was similar, with one mate declaring: “They make your bum look great.”

However, while I paid $20 for them, a Kmart spokesperson said it was a ticketing error which has since been rectified and confirmed the correct price is $22.
