Popular $70 Target item ‘sells out in minutes’

A budget version of an expensive item has sold out instantly across Australia after the retailer added a new colour to the popular line.

A hot pink linen blazer from a budget retailer has proved a hit among shoppers with the Australian store reporting it sold out nationwide in a “matter of minutes”.

The $70 “Preview Linen Blend Relaxed Blazer” was met by rave reviews when it hit Target stores earlier this year.

Now the superstore has released the wardrobe staple in a new colour, causing a frenzy among bargain lovers who rushed to snap it up, causing stock to quickly disappear.

Target said it was thrilled by the response, stating it shows how consumers are looking for value and style in their purchases at the moment.

“One of the top global trends we’re seeing this year is the importance of bold, bright pinks in fashion and we’re so pleased to be able to make this accessible to our customers with our Preview Linen Blend Blazer and Wide Leg Pants,” a Target spokesperson told news.com.au. “Our pink suiting range, and broader suiting collection, remains a customer favourite, with customers styling it up and down with sneakers for the more relaxed look, or with heels as they head to their spring summer events, selling out key pieces of the range.”

On social media, those who were lucky enough to snag the pink blazer along with a pair of matching bottoms, were quick to show off their buys.

“Get yourself to Target and get this pink suit in your life!!” one woman wrote.

“I need to stay away from Target, this suit is too tempting,” another said.

As one mused: “Actually obsessed with this, it’s amazing.”

The blazer can be paired with a pair of matching wide-leg pants, also $70, and comes in an array of other colours – beige, black, pale blue, mint green and a tan brown.

There are also other styles of pants available for shoppers to mix and match, including the “Paperbag Waist Pants” and the shorter culottes which cost $60.

Women previously raved about the affordable two-piece, that comes in at a fraction of the cost of the designer versions at just $140, describing it as an “essential” wardrobe addition.

“Dress up for the office or wear casually, you can’t go wrong,” Canberra stylist Gen – who posts under the handle @thisisgenevieve_ – captioned a clip of herself in the beige blazer with the paperbag waist pants.

Gen styled hers with a white knit tank top and matching sneakers, accessorising with a black handbag, that followers said looked “so cute”.

“I love how you’ve styled this with sneakers,” one said.

“Looks like a great fit,” another added.
