Nine ways '90s fashion is back
BUCKET hats, backpacks, overalls and Dr Martens are back. Yep, it's true - fashion from the '90s has officially made a resurgence and it's hurting our eyes.
NINETIES fashion has been floating around on the periphery for a while now. A sock and sandal duo here; a spaghetti strap there.
But if the slow re-emergence of overalls and baggy t-shirts weren't enough to convince you, then 2014's Field Day surely should have.
A quick glance at the thousands of social media pictures from the New Year's Day festival reveals bucket hats, backpacks and Dr Martens galore - and considering they were worn by people who weren't old enough to wear the trends on their first time around, we think it's safe to assume that the era is back.
Here are nine ways nineties fashion is making a comeback:
1. Overalls
If it's good enough to be seen again on pop stars and actors, it's good enough to be seen on us.
2. Chokers
With a pendant or without, if they're leather, they're in again.
3. Slip dresses
Also known as cami dresses, they've recently been seen on everyone from Kate Moss to Nicole Richie to Pixie Geldof.
4 . Backpacks
They may not be covered in surf brand logos yet, but it's only a matter of time...
5. Nineties shoes
Dr Martens, jelly shoes, platforms and anything white - if it was seen on the streets in the nineties, it's on it's way back to the streets.
6. Bucket Hats
Instagram photos from 2014's Field Day shows the bucket hat has well and truly returned - in every pattern imaginable.
7. Baggy, slogan tees
Whether you're a guy or a girl, you can finally start wearing those loose and comfy clothes you save for bed in public again.
8. Crop Tops
This Spice-Girls-come-cast-of-Friends trend has been around for a while, and it's showing no signs of going away.
9. Grunge
Is there anything that says nineties more than the grunge look? Think tartan, leather and black, and the more unkempt the better.
