‘Midlife crisis’: Reason you’ll be seeing less of Jackie O
Jackie O has revealed the reason she’ll be missing from a very popular event today, and it is all because of one key question she has started to ask.
COMMENT
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but Jackie O Henderson has become a fashionista, and there’s no stopping her now.
The radio host has been seen swanning around at fancy events, bringing the glitz and glam, and even on days off, she’s been photographed wearing ridiculously oversized cargo pants.
Even if you’re not a fan of her style – which, honestly, grow up – anytime a celebrity wears something other than that bow dress from Rebecca Vallance, we should be grateful.
Jackie is always pushing the envelope by embracing new styles and she’s prepared to get it wrong occasionally.
She’s unpredictable, and she’s been having way more fun with fashion in the last two years, which has been appreciated.

The 49-year-old has ditched boxy blazer dresses and replaced them with skin-tight outfits. She’s even become a fan of taking selfies in Pip Edwards’ oversized mirror.
It would be natural to assume that Jackie would be attending the Melbourne Cup. Not for the horses, but to wear something fun.
The radio host’s peers usually attend, like influencer Bec Judd and fellow radio star Carrie Bickmore, but Jackie will not be attending today.
Jackie told news.com.au that she won’t be attending the race that stops the nation because she’s taking a different approach to the events she decides to attend.
“I think so often we are motivated by ego and it is so hard to strip that bare,” she said.
Jackie said she’s started to ask herself, “Where does my true happiness lie?” And often, the answer isn’t at swanky parties with celebrities.
“You can start to hang out with people and think, ‘who are these people?’” she said.
“It sounds like I’m having a midlife crisis, but it is the opposite.”
The radio host has realised that she doesn’t want to attend events anymore just because they sound cool.
The 49-year-old said she sometimes feels “lonelier” in social situations than when she is alone.
She’s not threatening to become a shut-in or anything drastic, but she’s re-evaluating her motivations for attending events.
“Sometimes I go because I have to, or I go because I think it will be fun, and sometimes I go because I think I might meet someone,” she said.
Jackie said that sometimes she does end up having fun but, often, she just ends up making small talk with people she doesn’t even want to be friends with.
This brings us to the reason she’s not attending the Melbourne Cup. She’s not that interested in the event and is not a big fan of horse racing.

“No. Again, it is like, ‘Why do I really want to go? Am I interested in the horses? No’,” she said.
“What is the reason for going?”
Jackie couldn’t think of one, so she’s decided not to attend.
