Micro bikini with invisible straps takes tiny swimmers trend to extreme

The tiny bikini trend isn’t slowing down — with this latest “ridiculous” creation barely able to call itself a pair of swimmers.

Just when you thought we’d had our fill of barely-there bikinis, an eye-wateringly skimpy new design hits Instagram and causes another frenzy.

The latest one has been dubbed a “naked” bikini because just like the name suggests, it barely looks as if you’re wearing any clothes.

However, it’s all just a massive optical illusion, created by a few “delicate clear straps” and some tiny patches of flesh-coloured material. D elightful.

The micro-bikini monstrosity is being sold by UK fashion retailer Oh Polly and costs at $74. Not bad if it was an actual bikini but pretty outrageous considering there’s nothing to it.

Called the “Skinny Dipping” two-piece, it leaves little to the imagination with its miniature triangle cups and see-through straps.

The product description on the site reads: “Caution, this bikini ain’t for the faint-hearted. “Make tan lines a thing of the past in our clear strap micro bikini top, it covers the essentials.

“The triangles are adjustable to achieve your desired level of reveal.”

From the back it’s particularly full on.

The flesh-coloured thong disappears, putting your bum cheeks on full display, while the bra from the back is invisible.

But while you’d imagine no one would want to buy this ridiculous piece of clothing, the reaction on the brand’s social media suggests otherwise.

A quick scroll through the comments reveals people are desperate to get their hands on one.

“When will this be restocked? It’s always sold out,” one user wrote.

Another said: “Not to be dramatic but I’d die for this.”

“I need, I need, I need, have been ogling this for weeks,” someone else said.

“This is INSANE,” another wrote.

However, there clearly are still some sane people left on the planet, with one person declaring she “wouldn’t wear it in a hundred years”.

“They’ve failed on this one,” someone else wrote.

“This is what a bikini is nowadays?” a furious user commented, along with a face plant emoji.

Another said: “It’s basically a nothing bikini, utterly ridiculous.”

One person branded them “putrid”.

It seems these days swimwear fashion is all about the tinier the better — no matter how impractical the piece of “clothing” may be in the water.

Last month a tiny bikini went viral over its minuscule straps that had been replaced with buckles.
