Who likes short shorts? The answer is men now do, and it is time to embrace it.

Irish actor, Paul Mescal, 28, has been frequently parading around in tiny shorts lately, and it’s about to become quite the trend.

He has been seen running around in his tiny shorts, and he even turned up at a Gucci event in shorts that resembled boxers more than well-cut shorts.

“I’m a big advocate for men wearing shorter shorts,” he said at the event, which was obvious, but still nice to hear a man committing to something.

The Irish actor had his legs out like Jessica Simpson during her Dukes of Hazzard performance, and Gen Zers loved it.

Remember how millennials went nuts for men in very tight skinny jeans? Well, short shorts are that for youths.

The short shorts are seen as a very sexy piece of clothing. Something a man would wear as a bit of a thirst trap, as the kids with their firm boundaries say.

“I can’t tell you how much I love men when they wear shorts,” one young fan wrote

online, and there is a plenty of similar commentary.

Someone said Mescal in shorts left them with “no words”.

Another claimed it was “hot”, and the phrase “thigh guy summer” is also floating around the internet.

The shorts are here, people!

Sure, there are some haters.

One person wrote she could never “date a man wearing this”, and another person online called them “wrong”, but they’ll need to get with the program.

Mescal, who starred in Normal People and has been a sex symbol since, is championing them, and people have declared him in tiny shorts a thirst trap; which means this trend is about to take off.

Prepare to see much more male upper thigh at your local bowling club because soon, even non-famous men will embrace it.

Look, we shouldn’t be that surprised. The small, short trend has been bubbling away for years, but it just hasn’t made it mainstream yet.

Actor Milo Ventimiglia once went viral for looking hot in a pair of tiny shorts.

Sure, they did seem like gym shorts, but the length certainly wasn’t long, and fans were loving it.

There’s also the fact that Zac Efron from High School Musical fame, who has now transitioned into being a serious actor, was also seen wearing very skimpy board shorts.

So, Mescal has just picked up where they’ve left off, turned it up a notch, and made it a thing.

He isn’t alone in his skimpy pant advocacy; recently single Jeremy Allen White, who has had a huge year thanks to his work in The Bear, is right there alongside him fighting the good fight.

The actor went viral earlier this year for showing off his physique and his sunburn in

very skimpy shorts.

The images went viral, and once again the young people loved that he was getting the thighs out.

So, it is time to face the facts: short shorts are in for men.
