Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s shoes look identical
THEY’RE not sisters-in-law just yet, but that hasn’t stopped Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge from stepping out in almost the same footwear.
THEY may still be two months away from officially becoming sisters-in-law, but that hasn’t stopped Meghan Markle and the Duchess of Cambridge from sharing style advice with one another.
Stepping out at her first official event alongside the Queen for Commonwealth Day, Ms Markle brightened up a grey London day in her signature white coat and jaunty beret. The Duchess opted for navy blue with a matching hat, but it was their choice in shoes that got everyone talking.
At first glance, it looks like the royal ladies are twinning with their navy blue heels. But taking a closer look, Meghan wore Manolo Blahnik BB Pumps — valued at $793, while Kate opted for Gianvito Rossi 105 Suede Pumps — costing around $860. Both styles, which are very similar, have a 4-inch heel and pointed toe.
The Duchess has worn her pair on multiple occasions, including to a dinner with Barack and Michelle Obama at Kensington Palace in 2016.
The pair, along with Prince Harry, Prince William, the Queen, Prince Charles, his wife Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex, stepped out together for a church service in London to mark Commonwealth Day.
The annual service, to celebrate the alliance of the 53 countries including Australia which make up the Commonwealth, was held at Westminster Abbey in front of more than 2000 guests.
Prince William, who skipped the event last year to go partying at the Swiss ski resort of Verbier, made sure there was no repeat of last year’s headlines when he was caught “dad dancing’’ and hanging out with Australian model Sophie Taylor.
Other guests included British Prime Minister Theresa May and Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn as well as the high commissioners from the Commonwealth countries accredited in London.
