Fitness influencer Hayley Madigan shares bikini fail

A fitness influencer has told her half a million followers to “screw fashion” after slamming the design of a two-piece bikini.

A UK fitness influencer has taken to Instagram to remind her half a million followers to never hate their bodies, saying fashion trends are often to blame for people’s unrealistic expectations.

Hayley Madigan, 32, shared a video of herself in a burnt orange G-string bikini that she bought from online retailer Oh Polly.

She showed off the $71 two-piece, posing in various angles and tugging at the bottoms.

But the very confused look on her face said it all. The clip was also accompanied by a screenshot of a model wearing the two-piece bikini.

“When you order that cute bikini online and it’s just not quite how it’s meant to look,” she wrote in her post, adding: “WTF.”

She continued: “Remember, there’s nothing wrong with your body.

“It’s the fashion that is wrong, not your body. So instead of trying to look like the model in the advert remember that she probably doesn’t even look like that in real life either!

“Time to find another bikini,” Hayley said.

The Women’s Health online coach told followers if they buy an item of clothing that doesn’t make them feel confident to just “chuck it away”.

“Find something that you do feel confident in,” she said.

Hayley, a former bodybuilder, has been open about her struggles with body image often referencing a time in her life she was “fixated” on abs and being lean.

“Never judge your own body based on how the outfit looks online or on other people’s bodies,” she continued in her post.

“Outfits look completely different on every single body. So screw fashion for sometimes making us doubt our bodies and let’s go wear whatever we bloody want to!”

Hayley’s post resonated with her army of followers, thanking her for being so raw and real.

“I think this is worse than heartbreak. Thank you for the healthy reminder,” one woman wrote.

“Needed this today as I sit and pick myself apart,” another follower added.

“Too often we think there’s something wrong with OUR BODIES rather than some garment,” a third person wrote. “Also we can’t magically change certain proportions like the length of our torsos, arms, and legs. If a crop top hits at my waist, the problem is the shirt.”

Other women noted the extreme photoshopping that goes on in some fashion photos, with Hayley agreeing.

“The amount of airbrushing on their online pics is unreal. No one’s v****a looks that smooth,” she wrote in the comments section.
