Whoopi Goldberg surprises everyone by defending Tiffany Trump
WHOOPI GOLDBERG, a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, has surprised everyone by defending his daughter from the mean girls of Fashion Week.
WHOOPI GOLDBERG has taken a stand against the mean girls of New York Fashion Week.
On Wednesday’s episode of US TV show ‘The View’, the outspoken actor defended President Trump’s daughter Tiffany after no one would sit next to the 23-year-old at New York Fashion week (a move that is reminiscent of something you’d see in the classic high school movie Mean Girls).
“You know what, Tiffany, I’m supposed to go to a couple more [fashion week] shows. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m coming to sit with you,” she said on the show. “Because nobody’s talking politics. You’re looking at fashion! She doesn’t want to talk about her dad! She’s looking at the fashion!”
Goldberg’s defending of Tiffany Trump comes as a surprise as the co-host of ‘The View’ has been extremely vocal against President Trump. And Goldberg even noted there was a difference between boycotting Ivanka Trump’s fashion line and the means girls of NYFW.
“And people say what is the difference between people boycotting Ivanka. There is a difference. That’s all about buying stuff. You’re buying stuff. This girl is looking at fashion, and she’s just looking at fashion.”
And without talking about President Trump, Goldberg explained she knows what Tiffany Trump must feel like.
“I just thought it was mean ... I don’t want to talk about your dad, but, girl, I will sit next to you. Because I’ve been there where people said, ‘We’re not going to sit next to you.’ I’ll find your ass and sit next to you!”
While she showed empathy for Tiffany, Goldberg continued to pile onto Donald Trump earlier in the show.
The panel chimed in on reports Trump’s team had ongoing contact with Russian officials, reports Trump dismissed as “fake news.”
“It pissed me off,” said Whoopi, “it’s like, really, fake news?”
“I put it on you Republicans,” she continued, “you named some guys who are saying, ‘listen, there’s a problem.’ And if they’re standing up, the rest of you, Paul Ryan, the rest of you should get up and stand for America. As you say, America first, when is that going to kick in with you all?!”
