Victoria’s Secret unveils the $1 million Fantasy Bra

THIS outrageously expensive bra will sashay down the runway on Friday as part of the lingerie brand’s hotly anticipated fashion show.

EVER since the first design made it down the runway in 1996, the Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra has been the most hotly anticipated moment of each Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

From how many millions it costs to how many gems bedazzle the front, it’s all in the details when it comes to the most famous bra in the world.

Now, the 2018 bra has been revealed — with long time Angel Elsa Hosk tapped to walk it down the runway come November 8.

Named the Dream Angels Fantasy Bra, the bra was crafted by ateliers at Swarovski and is 100 per cent covered with the brand’s famous crystals and sustainably sourced topaz.

Valued at US$1 million, the bra and its adjoining body chain are complete with more than 2,100 Swarovski diamonds and a sterling silver bra base.

Taking more than 930 hours to create, the entire piece has a total of 71 carats woven into its body.

Calling the opportunity to wear the bra one of her “wildest dreams”, Hosk took to Instagram to confirm her happiness, writing that the news was the “best birthday present”, as her 30th birthday falls on Wednesday, November 7.

For the first time, it seems the lingerie brand is merging the traditional Swarovski bra with the Fantasy Bra, partnering them into one showstopping piece to take centre of attention come show day, on November 8.

In another first for the brand, fans will be able to buy a replica version of the Dream Angels Fantasy Bra from Victoria’s Secret stores. Costing US$250, the bra will be available from November 29 and will be adorned with Swarovski crystals, too.

The most expensive Fantasy Bra to ever walk the Victoria’s Secret runway was in 2000, with the Red Hot Fantasy Bra worn by Gisele Bündchen taking out the top place with a whopping US$15 million price tag. Since then, prices have gone down significantly, with the 2017 Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra costing US$2 million, and the 2016 Bright Night Fantasy Bra coming in at US$3 million.
