Models sport daring sheer outfits at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week
Models walked down the runway in completely see-through outfits at one of fashion week’s most daring shows – while one familiar face was completely unrecognisable.
After missing out on Fashion Week last year due to the coronavirus pandemic both designers and attendees are making up for it.
We’ve seen Julie Bishop stealing the show in a figure-hugging leopard print gown, fashionistas like Phoebe Burgess making an appearance as well as the tiniest bikini imaginable at the Michael Lo Sordo show.
But Australian Afterpay Fashion Week is far from done when it comes to serving up envelope-pushing looks – with one local brand taking the sheer trend to the next level.
During Wednesday’s Beare Park show models sashayed down the runway in a series of sheer outfits.

One model wore an off-the-shoulder top that left little to the imagination, pairing it with baggy trousers.
Another model wore an even more daring take on the trend, sporting a gold woven maxi dress with a chain accent that was completely see-through.
She wore a while G-string under the sheer dress, which was accessorised with a chunky gold chain necklace.
At the other end of the spectrum was Imogen Anthony, with the model unrecognisable – literally – in a head to toe bodysuit at the Daniel Avakian show.

The model, who previously dated radio host Kyle Sandilands, wore a blue-patterned unitard by
Marine Serre.
The outfit included a balaclava style covering that completely obscured Anthony’s face, which she also paired with oversized black sunnies.
Anthony didn’t let the outfit get in the way of her having a good time, with video posted to her Instagram story showing her sneaking some chips under her face covering.

The influencer is famous for her Fashion Week looks and even sported a bikini made of sand while walking the runway at Bondi Bathers show in 2014.
In 2017 Anthony wore a dominatrix-style jewelled mask covered in rhinestones.
But despite her hopes of going incognito at this year’s event, Anthony told The Daily Telegraph people had still been able to recognise her.
“I feel like I can’t surprise anyone anymore because everyone seemed to know it was me,” she said.
