AUSTRALIAN clothing brand Nana Judy has staged its first New York fashion week show.

The Melbourne-founded streetwear brand — which is achieving huge success in the USA — featured Victoria’s Secret model Josephine Skriver and Winnie Harlow on the runway.

There was even a dalmatian model — a nod to Nana Judy’s recent collaboration with Disney — for the presentation, titled “Alive”.

Held at Spring Studios in Manhattan, the show was staged as part of the official schedule for New York fashion week.

Other Australian labels due to hold shows in the Big Apple this season include Zimmermann, and camilla and marc.

Nana Judy’s latest collection featured space age metallic bomber jackets, mico-minis, denim on demin, and a bikini teamed with a coat and combat boots.

The clothing brand — founded by creative director Glenn Coleman — began in a garage in Kensington, and is known for androgynous designs, monochrome tones and famous fans.

“I started the brand when I was 19. We launched big really fast,” Coleman told News Corp Australia earlier this year.

Nana Judy invests seriously big bucks into events held at Splendour in the Grass, Coachella, and US nightclub group 1OAK.

Founded in 2006, Nana Judy started off with designs for the boys and expanded into women’s wear.

It will open a stand-alone store in Los Angeles’ fashion district soon, and the label is stocked in mega-department stores Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor.

“We do lots of premium fabrics and details,” Coleman has said, of the range.

“The celebrities that wear it … we’re organic and cool and people can see that. There’s a culture behind us.”
