P.E. Nation founder Pip Edwards has worn a daring ensemble for her label’s first Australian Fashion Week show since her business partner left in 2022.

Edwards’ athleisure brand debuted looks featuring oversized sweat pants, bomber jackets and hoodies during the runway show to showcase the brand’s new creative direction that “fashion moves with you”.

But it was the founder who truly stole the show after she took to the stage following the models in a high neck rain jacket with the drawstrings pulled in such a way it had a peplum effect on the top.

However her sheer black skirt — which could be seen replicated on the models in colours such as pink — really caught attention. The sheer skirt left little to the imagination as it showed off the 44-year-old’s toned legs and black underwear.

She finished the look off with chunky black and white sneakers, a dramatic winged eyeliner and Chanel earrings, while her cropped blonde hair was pushed back away from her face.

She waved at the crowd, which featured famous faces such as radio host Jackie “O” Henderson and former foreign minister Julie Bishop. There was a total of 600 guests at the event.

It was P.E Nation’s first Australian Fashion Week show since co-founder Claire Greaves announced her departure in 2022 and so the label’s first line solely under Edwards’ creative leadership.

The brand’s aim was to blend activewear, contemporary fashion and activewear.

“The show has been such a labour of love for the past six months. We’re so excited to finally share the step-change we’ve been focused on, and present the forthcoming P.E Nation collections in a way that felt very true to our roots as a fashion label, first and foremost,” Edwards said.

“Now RE/CREATION is out in the world we can’t wait for our community to find its place in their everyday routine.

“The new look is a lot more refined. It’s pared back, there’s minimal branding, and it’s based around a tonal colour palette. Detailing is sophisticated, the quality of fabrication and finish is elevated, and the silhouettes are easy, designed to be more versatile within every wardrobe.”

This included a full colour refresh in the new line, Edwards told The Australian. Sustainability was also at the forefront with P.E Nation being awarded B Corp status, an internationally recognised benchmark for sustainability, in March.
