The popular Thor and The Avengers actor is heading home this weekend, not as a thespian but as the major fashion guest of global fashion dynasty, the Zegna family.
Hemsworth, ever the tall and handsome fashion plate, was recently spotted have suit fittings at a Calvin Klein store in New York City, his chiselled good looks not being forgotten by big fashion names.
A handful of international celebrities have also been confirmed to attend the Zegna family's 50th Edition Wool Trophy, happening in Sydney next Tuesday evening, including Korean-American actor, Daniel Henney, Hong Kong-based actor and singer Leon Lai, and Australian model Megan Gale.
And in a coup for the Aussie wool business, Zegna will host over 200 international media to a VIP exhibition of multimedia installations, a Fall/Winter 2013 fashion show and a performance from Temper Trap at a grand party in the Royal Hall of Industries.
The Zegna family including Paulo, Gildo and Anna, will slowly trickle in from Milan to attend the event. They have been longtime supporters and users of Australian wool and are celebrating 50 years of The Wool Award - an annual event which awards and rewards the Australian woolgrowers’ commitment to quality.
Zenga is a leading luxury menswear brand, founded in 1910 in the Biella Alps by the young entrepreneur Ermenegildo. Since the late 1980s, the company has created a global luxury brand which ranges from fabric to clothing to accessories and is focused on retailing, even pioneering early entry in emerging luxury markets.
It was also the first luxury brand to open a monobrand store in China in 1991. Today there are 557 Zegna stores (311 company-owned) in over 100 countries around the world.
Come next week, no doubt Hemsworth will wear his sharp Zegna as well as former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating did, back in his leadership days.
The 29-year-old actor who is married to model Elsa Pataky, 36, is also about to star in the upcoming movie, Rush. The Ron Howard film is a biography of Formula 1 champion driver Niki Lauda, played by Daniel Bruhl, and the 1976 crash that almost claimed his life.
In Rush, Hemsworth plays James Hunt, who was Lauda's greatest circuit rival.
