‘So upsetting’: Customer fury at missing orders from Emily Ratajkowski’s swimwear brand
Customers have inundated the Instagram of Emily Ratajkowski’s bikini line with claims that orders they placed last November are missing.
Customers have inundated the Instagram account of Emily Ratajkowski’s bikini line with claims that orders they placed last November are yet to be honoured.
Shoppers say they have not received purchases made during the Black Friday sales from Inamorata – which the model, author and podcast host founded in 2017.
One customer, Dakota Poweska, told The Cut that after reaching out to the swimwear brand in mid-January about the whereabouts of her order, she was told it would ship by January 31. Subsequent messages from Inamorata’s customer service promised shipment by February 29, then by March 15.
On Tuesday, the label’s support team contacted Ms Poweska to say her order still wasn’t ready, adding “our manufacturing team is still navigating delays and needs a bit more time completing these pieces”. It then offered Ms Poweska the option of a refund.
Comments under posts on Inamorata’s social media pages show that Ms Poweska’s experience is far from unique.
“Ordered a bikini in NOVEMBER that still has not arrived. I have emailed multiple times and all I have gotten is automated responses about the further delays. So upsetting,” one wrote.
“What is going on with your brand??! Why do you make customers wait so long?” another questioned. “I don’t even fully believe that my order will ever arrive.”
A third commented: “I placed my order on Black Friday and it STILL has not shipped. So beyond disappointed. I want a refund.”
“Your team promised to have my items shipped out by March 15th. Still nothing. PLEASE it’s been five months,” one said.
The brand, which hasn’t posted on its Instagram grid since November, responded to some of the comments, directing people to its customer support email and instructing them to provide their name and order number for a refund.
Addressing the matter in an Instagram Story posted on Wednesday, it said: “Due to the overwhelming volume of orders off the Black Friday sale, we do have a delay on a small percentage of our orders.”
“We are offering a full refund to anyone who does not want to wait, with our sincere apologies to our valued customers,” it continued.
Ratajkowski, who last tagged Inamorata in a photo from her personal Instagram account in early December, is yet to comment.
