Rebecca Judd pulls activewear label Jaggad from Myer, The Iconic
AFL WAG Rebecca Judd has pulled her activewear label from a major retailer, with its only physical store now “permanently closed”.
Rebecca Judd’s activewear label Jaggad has “permanently closed” the doors of its only physical store in Melbourne — and has reportedly cut ties with retail giants Myer and The Iconic.
The AFL WAG co-founded the athleisure wear brand back in 2013 which has since become a go-to for the health and fashion conscious in across Australia.
However, a Google search for the flagship store in Brighton shows it has “permanently closed” with reports the label is now “shifting its entire business model online”.
Jaggad will also be disappearing from retailers as well, not showing online on The Iconic or Myer anymore, who are known stockists.
The Iconic “declined to comment at this point in time”, with news.com.au waiting to hear back from Myer.
In addition to the two major retailers, Jaggad has also cut ties with Stylerunner, Glue and Revolve.
According to the Herald Sun, the changes brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic led to the closure of Jaggad’s only retail store “for the foreseeable future” and staff redeployments across a team of 30.
The move means customers will now have to buy from Jaggad directly.
The label also scrapped its entire menswear range due to low sales less than a year ago, the newspaper reported.
It previously offered sportswear for men, including shorts, jumpers, T-shirts and lightweight jackets.
Recent flash sales have also seen stock marketed at discount rates of up to 50-70 per cent off including items from newer collections.
At this stage it is unclear if the men’s garments will be making a comeback.
The brand, which has been endorsed by celebrities including model Jennifer Hawkins and Olympic runner Morgan Mitchell, is still popular and thriving according to company insiders, the Herald Sun reports.
Bec Judd also regularly models various garments, sharing snaps to her Instagram.
The mother-of-four, who is married to AFL great Chris Judd, wrote on her most recent post: “Get it. Get it. Get it,” as she showed off a new arrival puffy jacket.
Bec founded the brand with Chris and friends Michelle Greene and her AFL husband, former Hawthorn star Steven Green, back in 2013.
