A British reality star who is currently expecting her first child has clapped back after copping backlash to her skimpy baby shower ensemble.

A British reality star who is expecting her first child has clapped back after being brutally shamed over her revealing baby shower outfit.

Hayley Hughes appeared on Love Island UK in 2018 where she amassed a huge fan base with her endearingly innocent personality.

While she didn’t find love on the popular dating show, Hughes has since met someone in the real world, with the couple due to welcome a baby boy in September.

Ahead of his arrival, Hughes threw a lavish baby shower, sharing the snaps on social media.

In some of the snaps, the expectant mum can be seen wearing an open white lace top with a long train that showed off her blossoming baby bump.

Hughes paired it with a matching mini skirt.

But the 26-year-old’s lacy ensemble caught the attention of a cruel troll who slammed her revealing outfit choice.

“Don’t like the outfit at all looks like a nightie/underwear.”

The nasty remark prompted Hughes to clap back, stating: “Good job your opinion doesn’t matter. Have a good day xoxo.”

Many of her fans then leapt to the pregnant star’s defence, telling Hughes she looked “unreal”.

“You look so beautiful,” one said.

“Gorgeous pics and memories,” another agreed.

As another wrote: “Wow insane.”

Hughes previously described the pregnancy as a “dream come true”, describing her unborn boy as “my little baby bear”.

She posted a photo showing two black and white Polaroids, which she had placed on a sandy beach.

Written on them in the sand were the words: “We’re having a baby. Due Sep 23.”

The reality star has made a conscious effort to keep the identity of her boyfriend out of the public eye, The Sun reports.

In early January, she posted a picture of herself cuddling up to him while on holiday in Dubai.

Her mystery man’s face was hidden in the shot but she wrote alongside it: “Another year with you ....happy new year.”
