IF YOU’RE looking for a new couple to love, you will find it in Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl.

The super stylish duo have been married for just eight weeks, and have made their way over to Australia to launch Chadstone’s Spring Summer 2014 ‘Icons of Style’ campaign — their first project as newlyweds. So to celebrate their eight week anniversary, here are eight reasons to love them:

1. THEY KNOW FASHION

If you can tear your eyes away from their exceptional good looks for just a second, you should heed anything Palermo and Huebl have to say about fashion.

German-born Huebl has forged a successful career as a model for the likes of Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren, and is one of the best dressed men on the planet. Similarly, the ever-chic Palermo is a perpetual cover girl, a fashion show regular, blogs at oliviapalermo.com, and added the Distinguished Style Award from The Accessories Council to her many fashion accolades last year.

Most recently, the duo have collaborated for Melbourne shopping centre Chadstone’s SS14 campaign, which Palermo styled and starred in, and Huebl photographed. Her picks for the season? “Stick to light colour palates, creams, greens, pastels, then transition to florals. I also love a hint of metallic.” — Noted.

2. THEY LOVE WORKING TOGETHER

“Johannes and I have worked together plenty of times, both from the editorial aspect and in front of the camera,” says Palermo. “Working together is wonderful. When we have the chance to we love to.”

“We’ve modelled for brands together like Mango, Mercedes Benz and a few others,” adds Huebl. “I just shot her for an editorial for Harper’s Bazaar Latin America coming out in September. You are obviously differently filtered working with your wife or your spouse, but of course it’s great. It’s so in synch, you know exactly how to photograph, and she knows how to model so well.”

3. THEY’RE TOTALLY NORMAL — YES, REALLY

OK, so they’re ridiculously glamorous, they always sit front row, they travel the world, and even paparazzi shots of them look like magazine spreads. But Palermo and Huebl are refreshingly normal - they joke, they laugh, they ask questions, they’re curious, they’re funny, they’re unadorned ... and we love it.

4. HE CAN SHOOT

“I studied photography in university, and I was never able to do it because I jumped straight into modelling for six or seven years,” Huebl explains. “So it was inevitable for me to act on something that I always wanted to do, and I would like to do much more of it now, of course.”

5. SHE CAN STYLE

Palermo has built an empire around her flawless fashion sense — and she made global headlines when she got married in a flawless sweater-short-tulle Carolina Herrera combo. So what can she teach us about finding our style? “It’s about how one puts an outfit together,” she says.

“It’s the accessories, the little additions. As you get older you understand what works for your body type and what doesn’t. When you’re 18 and 19 you try everything, but when you mature into your 20s you realise, okay, maybe I don’t want to wear a super short skirt and super high heels anymore. You gain a bit of balance.”

6. THEY LOVE BEING ‘HUSBAND’ AND ‘WIFE’

They’ve been together for nearly seven years, so how different is it being married? Not so different — except for one thing. “When you refer to your spouse that’s the thing you have to get used to!” laughs Huebl. “You kind of catch yourself, it’s not your girlfriend or your fiancee anymore, it’s your wife! ‘Wife’ is great.”

It’s clear from their interactions that married life is suiting them fine, and if you regularly peruse Huebl’s Instagram page, you’ll know that they are super smitten with each other — especially on a #sunday.

7. THEY’RE NOT FANS OF COUPLE DRESSING

Don’t let their wedding outfits fool you — Palermo and Huebl don’t deliberately dress to match. “We dress separately and meet at the door!” laughs Palermo.

“People might assume we coordinate at events and things, but we are usually just wearing what it says on the invite, what you’re supposed to wear for the event,” adds Huebl. “During the day we just wear what we want to wear — also her wardrobe is so much more extensive than mine. I have things that I love to wear and you’ll probably see me in them a lot. Guys I think have their favourite items, and my wardrobe doesn’t change so often. I could wear the same sneakers for two to three months, just because I like them.”
