Meghan Markle’s trick to preventing wardrobe malfunctions
THE Duchess has a handy fashion tip for preventing her dresses and skirts from flying up in front of all the world’s photographers during public events.
TALK about skirting the issue.
Despite the fact that they’re almost always photographed in dresses and skirts (per the Queen’s orders, reportedly), royals like Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have a sneaky way of ensuring they don’t flash their adoring fans.
“Often they wear bodysuits and clothes that actually increase static so it’s much harder for something to fly up,” Beaumont Etiquette founder Myka Meier told The Sun.
“If you do not use weights or heavy weighted material, you make sure it will not fly up by wearing undergarments that keep the fabrics [connected to] to your body.”
The biggest risk of an unflattering photo, Ms Meier added, comes when royals are boarding or exiting an aeroplane and at the mercy of heavy gusts.
“Often it’s so windy and breezy that hats are used to keep hair in place,” the etiquette expert said.
“Just like the dresses fly up, so does your hair. Right when you walk off the aeroplane, those are the first photos that go viral, so the hat is often used right when they walk off for that reason.”
