Bizarre side effect of ‘naked’ dressing trend
New photos of Justin Bieber have confirmed there’s a trend slowly becoming popular in Hollywood and it is confusing to say the least.
COMMENT
Justin Bieber and Brooklyn Beckham have something in common, and no, it isn’t their love of ugly tattoos. They love to dress radically differently from their glam wives.
Recently Bieber, 30, was just spotted accompanying his pregnant wife Hailey to dinner. The singer wore black Mary Janes, some Adam Sandler-style baggy shorts, a corduroy hat, and an oversized jumper for the occasion.
A 30-year-old man was rocking the shoes most of us were forced to wear in primary school. He even paired them with a pair of little white socks.
It was the schoolboy vibes that no one asked for. Meanwhile, his wife was dressed like a supermodel.
She was practically naked - in the most glamorous way possible - and he was dressed like a teenager at best.
The Mary-Jane shoe choice is not one that can be glossed over.
The shoes looked stiff, straight from the box. With every step, he was on the verge of getting blisters and needing to use one of those foot baths your Nan bought from an infomercial in the early 2000s.
Shortly after those photos were taken, Bieber was spotted again out and about, this time in a denim puffer vest, and the slides made perfect sense.
He needed to give his feet a rest in a pair of hotel-style slippers after forcing them into uncomfortable school shoes.
Shoe choices aside, Mrs Bieber was wearing a see-through catsuit.
She paired the lace onesie with a black bomber jacket and heels. Hailey looked like she was going to the Grammys, and he looked like he was off to graffiti inside a train tunnel.
Why the married couple looked like they were going to such radically different events will remain one of life’s great mysteries.
Did she pop on the naked suit, and did Bieber think the perfect way to compliment his near-naked wife was by dressing like he was about to go to a primary school disco and he had to make sure his shoes were up to uniform standard?
She was looking like a sex symbol, and he was trialling behind her, like a disgruntled teenager forced to go to a nice restaurant instead of staying home and ordering Pizza Hut off Uber Eats.
It is baffling, to say the least. But this is the man who wore a backwards hat to the couple’s own vow renewals, so no event will prompt him to get dressed up.
Bieber isn’t the only man in Hollywood underdressing; Brooklyn Beckham, the son of David and Victoria Beckham and the husband of billionaire heiress and Nicola Peltz has been caught doing the same.
The pair were spotted going out for dinner together one night, and in Brooklyn’s defence, he is no Bieber. He wore shoes that looked like they were for grown-ups, but was dressed casually in pants and a blazer. Meanwhile, Nicola wore a completely sheer cat suit and knee-high boots.
He looked like he was about to enjoy a pub special, and she looked like she was about to audition to play Cat Woman or walk a runway.
How on earth did they end up at the same dinner?
The young and famous men are not keeping up with their wives in the fashion department.
But in their defence, what is the male version of a see-through dress? What meets that fashion level and doesn’t look comically ordinary in comparison?
So far, we know Mary Jane shoes aren’t the answer.
