Aussie model Catherine McNeil tied the knot with former NBA player Miles Plumlee in a wedding dress with an unconventional feature.
Australian model Catherine McNeil has tied the knot with former NBA player Miles Plumlee in a sideless wedding dress.
The 33-year-old, known for her edgy style, went underwear-free in the white sheath, slit on both sides with giant bows fastening the dress at her hip bones.
McNeil opted for no veil, wearing her hair in a simple slicked-back ponytail. She paired the dress with strappy black heels.
“Mr and mrs plumlee. By far the happiest day of my life!!!” she wrote, alongside two videos of the nuptials, at a New York courthouse, on her Instagram.
“Thank you to everyone that made this possible. love you all.”
Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception at Italian restaurant Locanda Verde – where Plumlee presented McNeil with a Rolex watch.
Dozens of the model’s loved ones shared their congratulations, including McNeil’s ex-fiance and fellow Australian, Ruby Rose.
“Gosh I’m crying from joy. I love you, you deserve this moment, and this forever X,” Rose wrote.
McNeil announced her engagement to the American basketballer in June 2022.
“Of course I said YES. @milesplumlee I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together,” she wrote at the time, alongside a series of images of the proposal.
The couple started dating in late 2019 – just before the model, who is originally from Logan in Brisbane, moved back to Australia from the US.
Appearing on the cover of Vogue last year, McNeil said she and Plumlee had met a few years prior, but the timing wasn’t right. Two years later, the stars aligned.
“I think we moved in [together] within like a week. He was trying to keep me there,” she told the magazine.
Shortly after, Plumlee signed with NBL team the Perth Wildcats for a year, and the pair flew back to Australia together.
“He is just the most loving, gentle soul. Like, he’s a big gentle giant,” McNeil said.
“He’s so caring. I mean, I could go on for hours about how much I love him, but I’ll keep it at that.”
