The Air Jordan 11 Retro Gamma Blue, is the latest iteration of the iconic basketball sneaker and as shoppers lined up early to get the $US185 ($208) limited edition fights broke out.

The New York Post reports that in The Bronx at a Footlocker outlet on 151th Street and Third Avenue fights between teenage girls spilled out onto the street.

In Stockton, California a viral video shows a mob of teenage boys exchanging punches inside a Finish Line store after the retailer sold out of the sneakers.

Last year a 22-year old man from Houston, Texas suburb was killed over the then newly released Air Jordans.

It is unknown if anyone was injured or arrested in the latest weekend melees.
