THIS season we’re all going warrior style thanks to the far-reaching influence of TV’s Game of Thrones.

Whether you’re inspired by Daenerys/Khaleesi and her flowing robes, Arya Stark and her doublet and sword, Jon Snow and his long locks and inimitable ability to pull off a fur coat, or you’re more the dashing Jaime Lannister with his trench coat and armour, as season five gets into full swing are you game enough to pull off the Game of Thrones style?

We went to David Jones to challenge our models to turn the fantasy style into real life.
“It’s this season’s answer to modern day dressing with texture with leather, beautiful flannels, shearling and capes,” Donna Player, Group Executive Merchandise, said. “We are seeing people really layer, but not in a theatrical way. It’s with confidence because they are striding out with a purpose.”
To get Daenerys’s look, start with a feminine silk dress cinched around the waist with a chunky belt. Add tough-girl accessories such as suede thigh-high boots and fringed handbags.
When it comes to outerwear, Witchery has a great faux fur jacket and Scanlan Theodore’s glamorous shearling coats are ultra-chic. Long capes and belted vests from Bassike are elegant options for women who want a slightly more sinuous silhouette.
“This look is easy to build on with plenty of outerwear in natural camel and dark grey tones,” Player said.
To complete the look, wear leather pants under dresses with a fedora or trilby hat.
You can also add regal looking rings, necklaces and ear cuffs from Australian designers such Amber Sceats and Sarina Suriano.
Guys can get a Westeros wardrobe by adding chunky knits, faux fur wraps and leather accessories to jeans. The Academy Brand has sharply tailored fur trim buckle coats, an instant mountain-man makeover.
