‘Most bizarre gift ever’: Aussie dad’s unconventional Christmas present
An Aussie dad has baffled social media users with the “perfect” – albeit “most bizarre” – early Christmas gift to his kids.
There’s still more than a month to go until the silly season, but one Australian dad may have already taken the cake with the “perfect” – albeit “most bizarre” – Christmas gift.
For the man’s children and their friends, December 25 came early when, according to a post on Facebook, he delivered them a literal ute tray full of meat.
“My friend’s dad started a tradition a few years ago of giving us a full cow and pig for Christmas every year,” one of the lucky recipients wrote.
“He says he’d rather know we have food for the year rather than something that isn’t specifically a need, but a want.
“This is one tradition we will work hard to be able to pass down to our kids as well.”
Those in the comments on the post were divided over whether the present was “brilliant” or not.
“This is a fantastic tradition,” one wrote.
“What a fantastic gift. This way of gifting should be employed today,” a second commented, adding they’d been inspired themselves.
“It has got me thinking.”
Others were a little less awed, pointing out the recipients would need plenty of freezer storage to make the “gift” last.
“Does he buy you a big freezer as well?” one person asked.
“How big is your freezer, and how long are you meant to freeze meat for?” another questioned.
“Surely it’s not recommended to freeze it for as long as a year.”
