Baby Hayden gets his photo with Santa a year after death
A MAN working as a Santa at a shopping centre has sent out a powerful message for those struggling during this time of year.
CALEB Sigmon, 22 was working as Santa at a local shopping centre in Georgia when he was approached by a man with a framed picture.
That man was Kyle Daniel and the framed picture was of his late son Hayden who died last year.
“On December 19, 2014, Hayden passed away in my arms. His lungs had become weak and just stopped working. He was just a few days away from being six months old,” Daniel told Today.
Mr Sigmon was so moved by the moment he took to his Facebook page to share the unspoken sadness and gratitude that occurred when Hayden’s father approached him.
“Without anyone saying anything, he handed me the frame and I placed it on my knee. In the photo, I could see on the little boy’s armband that his first name was Hayden. I didn’t ask any questions, but I am guessing that this is his first photo with Santa,” Sigmon wrote in his post.
“I’m sharing this to remind us all that Christmas time is unbelievably hard for some families. Pray for the broken-hearted. Smile at people. Just be kind. Love one another.”
