US Presidential debate turns ugly: Wildest moments from Trump and Biden’s first debate

We know he loves tucking into some McDonald’s but the fast-food meal could also be the secret to US President Donald Trump’s $70,000 locks.

A study previously revealed the chemical in McDonald’s fries could be a cure for baldness – and Mr Trump has since joked the study must be true.

In 2018 Japanese scientists said the chemical added to the hot chips to keep the oil from splattering found it could help hair regrowth, proving the results on mice.

Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, who is bald, tweeted about the study in 2018, saying: “It doesn’t work.”

But Mr Trump, en route to Minneapolis on Air Force One, has today retweeted Mr Fleischer, saying “No wonder I didn’t lose my hair!”.

People on Twitter were quick to reply to the President, saying “It’s hard to lose something that’s hot-glued to your head.”

The US leader is a known fan of Macca’s, even serving it to distinguished guests at the White House. A book in 2018 suggested he eats McDonald’s to avoid poisoning.

“(Trump) had a longtime fear of being poisoned, one reason why he liked to eat at McDonald’s – nobody knew he was coming and the food was safely premade,” wrote Michael Wolff in Fire And Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

In 2017, Mr Trump’s former aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossi said his order was “two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted (shake)”.

“On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke,’’ according to their book Let Trump Be Trump.
