Woman goes viral after sharing amazing before and after photos, and revealing her acne cure
THESE before-and-after photos have gone viral after a woman revealed the exact products that helped her get rid of her painful acne.
IF you’ve ever suffered from spots or blemishes, you know that you’ll try anything to alleviate them.
So it’s no surprise that one woman has been hailed for revealing exactly how she got rid of her cystic acne, detailing her entire skin routine on Reddit.
In a post entitled “Hard work and retinol really make a difference”, user Egotr4p shared a side-by-side image of herself before and after starting her intense regimen.
The left photo shows her with broken-out skin, next to a picture of her newly-smooth and glowing complexion.
She explained that while she didn’t see a dermatologist, she used tretinoin .025 per cent — a prescription-strength retinoid.
This particular product is only available via prescription, but you can get lower strength retinols over-the-counter.
However, retinol isn’t the only part of her routine.
In the comments section of her post, Egotr4p revealed that she relies on a six-step system in the morning and seven steps at night.
Her full routine:
AM
Ponds Cucumber Cleanser
Hada Labo Whitening Toner
Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin C Serum
The Ordinary Niacinimide
Aquaphor
Biore UV watery gel
PM
Micellar water
Ponds Cucumber Cleanser
CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
Hada Labo Whitening Toner
Tretnoin 0.025%
Mario Badescu Peptide Renewal
Aquaphor
She uses products including cleanser, toner, Micellar water and vitamin C serum, and has also gone vegan.
She wrote: “I don’t think [retinol] was the only thing that really helped me, although definitely a part of it all.
“Going vegan has improved the texture of my skin and frequency of pimples appearing as well as the other actives in my routine.”
She said she had cystic acne for “a year or two” before starting her routine, and that she started to see results within two months.
The transformation took two years in total.
Claiming that she “doesn’t ever break out anymore”, she said she gets only “one pimple every two months”.
In a message to others, the young woman added: “There is hope.”
