Topless woman groped at festival claims she’s received death threats and trolls are trying to deport her
THE WOMAN dubbed “glitterboobs” after her being groped at a music festival went viral has been the target of a “hate” campaign to have her deported.
THE topless woman who was groped at a New Zealand music festival claims she has received death threats since the incident.
Madeline Anello-Kitzmiller, 20, whose breasts were covered in glitter when a man grabbed her from behind at Rhythm & Vines festival in Gisborne, said people have even launched a campaign to have her deported.
Footage from the New Zealand festival (which you can view at the top of this post) showed Madeline and friend Kiri-Ann Hatfield following the man before repeatedly punching him.
Initially, Madeline uploaded a defiant video blog on Facebook saying she will go topless again as her breasts are “not sex toys”.
But speaking to 1 News Now, she revealed she is struggling to make sense of the “disgusting” amount of people who insist she deserved to be violated.
Madeline said: “People have taken the time out of their day to message me saying that I’m disgusting, that I should be ashamed of myself.
Despite having every right to live in New Zealand, she says some trolls have said she should be booted from the country for going topless at the festival.
“Somebody claimed to start a petition that already had 900 signatures to get me deported,” she said.
But she explained the abuse started before the footage of her retaliating to her attacker was even shared online.
During the festival, Madeline said some shouted at her, calling her a “s**t” and said she was “disgusting”.
The invasion of her personal space did not stop Madeline from having a good time at the New Year’s Eve event and she did not cover up her breasts.
Worryingly, she says she was abused by both male and female festival-goers the day before the incident, when she was wearing a T-shirt.
Her boyfriend praised Madeline on Facebook, sharing a photo of the happy couple alongside the caption: “You are such an inspiration and the most bad-ass girl I’ve ever met, love you!”
In the video, taken by Giann Reece, which went viral, the man follows Madeline and grabs her breast before running off and taking a seat on the grass.
However, the woman, who is accompanied by her friend, chases after him and strikes him several times in the face.
The festival is a popular destination for New Year’s Eve revellers, branding itself the “first place in the world to welcome the first sunrise of the new year”.
