Top designer Karl Lagerfeld joins forces with Aussie beauty brand ModelCo in a global style coup

So when the opportunity came along for Australian beauty brand ModelCo to collaborate with the famous designer, the founder and CEO, Shelley Sullivan, was absolutely all over it.
“The ModelCo brand first caught the eye of Karl Lagerfeld with our long history of ‘first to market’ innovations and other successful celebrity collaborations,” founder Shelley Sullivan told news.com.au from Paris.
“I felt like both brands were well aligned in terms of design values and we had a joint vision to create a fun, and playful beauty range which would push the boundaries of innovation, design and creativity.
“I have spent the past 6 months flying to and from Paris to meet with the Karl Lagerfeld team. Sitting in his office for the first time was a real ‘pinch me’ moment.”
Shelley says it isn’t just beauty products the two brands will be working on together.
“I can reveal also that the range will consist not only of beauty products but we are also doing a Karl Lagerfeld designed bag and fun accessories, which fit in with the limited beauty collection.
“There will also be special collectable memorabilia for the ModelCo/Karl Lagerfeld cult fans!”
ModelCo has achieved cult status through its numerous celebrity ambassadors and collaborations including Elle Macpherson, Dannii Minogue, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and currently, with Hailey Baldwin.
“The Karl Lagerfeld for ModelCo range is an evolution of our strategic direction for the ModelCo brand,” adds Sullivan.
“We are launching an entirely new ModelCo range, which will be sold in the world’s biggest retailers globally in 2018 and the collaboration with Karl is the first step on our global beauty domination.”
The limited-edition beauty collection will channel the theme of ‘Illuminated Beauty’ and will feature smart, modern, iconic beauty products, launching in early 2018.
The range will feature innovative and collectable beauty products and will be available globally through stores and will be hugely prolific online.
“We are just honoured to partner with Karl Lagerfeld as he is one of the world’s most renowned and iconic names in design,” adds Ms Sullivan.
“It’s going to be super fun, highly-coveted and a ‘collectible’ collection that will combine our high-quality formulas and innovative, technical packaging with Karl Lagerfeld’s unmistakable artistic aesthetic that’s sophisticated, modern and cool.”
