REMEMBER that amazing, and supposedly Photoshop-free, photo of Cindy Crawford that went nuts on social media last month?
Well, it turns out that photo was altered to make Crawford, 48, look worse.
The photographer who took the original image is threatening to sue a UK newspaper for publishing the photo, reports TMZ, which has obtained a copy of a letter from the photographer’s lawyer.

— Paradise Hotel (@ParadiseHotel_) February 23, 2015John Russo is the photographer who took the original image. He has photographed numerous celebrities including Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts for magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ, Esquire and Marie Claire.
The letter from Mr Russo’s lawyer saysit is a “doctored photographic image” and the UK newspaper has “sought to afford credibility to what is a fraudulent photograph by describing this as ‘a leaked, unretouched photograph of the presumed perennially perfect supermodel’”.
Mr Russo himself goes on to explain: “It has been falsely claimed that this photograph represents an unretouched photograph of Cindy Crawford. This is unequivocally untrue.
“This is a fraudulent version of my photograph that has been maliciously altered and does not represent the actual legitimate image taken by me,” Mr Russo says in the statement.
Just days after the photo appeared online, Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber posted this photo to Instagram:
Crawford has yet to make any comment on the image herself.
