Rihanna has done it again. The queen of gorgeous makeup and founder of Fenty Beauty dropped a whole bunch of new products on Friday, but the standout is this gorgeous lip balm.
Her Instagram followers have been frothing over this product all week since it was teased online and its arrival is set to break the internet, with good reason!
The lip balm’s main ingredients are castor seed oil, candelilla wax and squalene.
It doesn’t contain petroleum jelly, which is the main ingredient in many popular lip balms.
Petroleum jelly can actually make lips drier. Ever noticed how the more lip balm you apply, the more you seem to need it? That’s because it’s sealing in moisture and creating a barrier between your skin and the harsh air, as opposed to actually helping hydrating ingredients sink into the skin and making chapped lips heal.
Also, it’s derived from oil-refining, which some people don’t like for both health and ethical reasons.
More modern lip products are starting to incorporate oils and lanolin into their formulas - both perfect hydrating ingredients for sore lips that are easy to absorb.

There are loads of lip scrub products on the market, but most of them are really annoying and hard to use. This formula and product delivery system are seriously amazing and there’s nothing quite like it on the market.
Lip scrubs often involve a harsh, sugar-based scrub that gets super messy. You use them once and then they get lost in the back of your bathroom drawer.
Scrubstick is a lip balm combined with a scrub, except it is very gentle and hydrating. Plus, you can actually use it during the day while you’re out and about and not look like a crazy person.
The main ingredients are coconut oil and beeswax, while tiny granules gently exfoliate the lips.
The first time I used this, I was able to gently wipe my gross little flakes of chapped skin off my lips and afterwards they felt lovely and smooth.

Lanolips is a classic Australian lip product made from lanolin, the fatty wax in sheep’s wool. It’s completely natural and feels gorgeous on the skin.
I switched from Lucas’ Paw Paw Ointment to this product years ago and I’ve never looked back.
The reason why it’s great to switch to a “natural” lip balm like Lanolips is because many of the synthetic fragrances, colours and additives in traditional lip products can actually irritate the skin.
So while we apply lip balm to soothe sore lips, sometimes regularly applying more product can actually cause them to become more red, chapped and unpleasant.
ULTRA VIOLETTE SHEEN SCREEN

New Australian sunscreen brand Ultra Violette is famous for amazing face sunscreens, but their lip balm is also incredible.
Sheen Screen contains SPF 30 and has a beautiful peach flavour that is totally addictive.
Its main ingredients are lanolin, cocoa seed butter and beeswax - all beautiful and natural hydrating ingredients your lips will eat up.
The glossy formula feels very chic thanks to a subtle pink tint, so you’ll feel like you’re using a more expensive, luxury product.
BURT’S BEES LIP BALM

This range of glorious lip balms that are perfect for when you’re on the go.
They’re natural and come in a variety of different flavours - coconut and pear is delish, as is pomegranate - and contain mostly oils and beeswax.
They’re not shiny or glossy and not particularly glamorous - but they’re great for before bed or to apply underneath your lipstick for extra hydration.
FRANK BODY CHERRY BOMB TINTED LIP BALM

Frank Body is famous for their exfoliating coffee scrubs, but they also make a killer lip balm.
This red tinted balm gives lips that gorgeous berry look while still providing amazing hydration.
It contains lanolin, coffee seed oil, coconut oil and grape seed oils, plus it’s packed with antioxidants and vitamin E.
